Design Boards

Cool Tools - Design Boards and Bobbins

These handy little items are like mini portable design walls designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake. Available as 10in x 10in squares, or 18in x 18in squares, they are so useful. They consist of a foam core board covered in cotton batting, edged with fun fabrics. Fabric clings to the cotton batting, so you can lay your pieces on the design board and they will not move as you take them to the sewing machine. You can lay out multiple blocks on multiple boards and simply stack by the machine. They are available to purchase, but if you would prefer to make your own go to: http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com.au/2011/07/mini-design-board-tutorial.html.

Bobbin HUGGEE

Cool Tools - Design Boards and Bobbins

Sick of your bobbins unravelling your precious thread and making a mess? Try giving them a hug! Designed by CeeBee Quilts in Queensland, these useful items are simply a pliable, plastic sl

ip that slides over the thread on your bobbin. As the thread is held, it is unable to unwind. Bobbin HUGGEE comes in three sizes, denoted by the different colours of the plastic. The bobbins can then be stored in a bobbin tray, or combine with Bobbin Match Mate and keep with your thread rolls. https://www.etsy.com/listing/278654312/bobbin-huggee

Bobbin Match Mates

Cool Tools - Design Boards and Bobbins

A simple concept, but oh so handy. The blue plastic plug has a long side and a short side on either side of a stopper. The long side pushes into the centre of your traditional rolls of machine thread, leaving the short side exposed. The bobbin wound with the matching thread is pushed onto the short side. You are then able to store the thread and bobbin together.
