Queensland Quilters Inc holds its annual quilt show in October. The 2018 show was one of the largest quilt shows in Australia, with more than 600 quilts hung across 19 categories and a prize pool of over $25,000. The theme for 2018 was Medallions. Feathered 5iever, 193cm x 196cm (76in x 77in), Lyn Crump
Artist’s statement: “This pattern is a green linear quilted star galaxy exploding out of a white outer space, imploding with circular quilting designs spiralling in. Splashes of green in clusters of five are scattered throughout. Feathered 5iever is my fifth Feathered Star quilt. Made with Kona Cotton Solids.”

Artist’s statement: “I used an original colourway with Judy Niemeyer’s Vintage Rose. I am new to patchwork and was drawn to the accuracy of foundation piecing. This quilt gave me a great canvas for my passion, which is quilting. There are amazing possibilities in every quilt with a simple domestic sewing machine.”

Artist’s statement: “For me, design inspiration starts with the fabric, especially when the designs are suitable for fussy cutting. The quilt interior and the pieced borders all incorporate some variation of the versatile kaleidoscope block, which is perfect for showcasing fabric prints.”

Artist’s statement: “Medallion-style quilt, original design. Hand appliquéd and pieced using 1930s reproduction fabrics. Hand quilted.”

Artist’s statement: “Hand pieced fussy cut hexagons, needleturn appliqué enhanced with embroidery. Machine quilted.”
