Quick & Easy Sewing Project
To tree or not to tree… that is the question mark behind these tiny, utterly adorable sew pea coats, the perfect easy sewing project.
Their creator, Kelli Ward, of True Bias (www.truebias.com), originally made them as Xmas-tree decorations, but they are too cute to hide away for 11 months of the year. So, we suggest you make them as little house-decoration trinkets to get full mileage out of them. Kelli was good enough to share her tutorial with Homespun readers. For pattern sheet click here.

Step 3: Create the collar by first tacking the collar piece to the coat, then folding down the back over the seam and bringing the top corners of the collar down to meet the angles of the pea coat. Use fabric glue to hold in place.
Step 4: Fold down the ‘lining’ fabric by 1⁄4in and press. Open coat and glue into the inside so that it covers the neck seam.
Step 5: Glue pocket pieces onto the front of the pea coat.
Step 6: Using thread and needle, sew on ‘buttons’ (seed beads) onto the pocket and coat breast.
