Cool Tools on the Patchwork and Quilting Market – Stickits and Seam Rollers
This page is devoted to bringing you all the trusted old favourites and new tools on the patchwork and quilting market.
Stickits
Fussy cutting and using templates is very popular at present. However, holding small templates in place to cut around them can be hard. Stickits are double-sided adhesive dots in three sizes that can be placed on your acrylic template to help hold it while you draw or cut, making your next patchwork project that much easier! This tool is designed by Riley Blake and sold in quilt shops everywhere.

Seam Roller
The wooden, bevelled roller is attached to a handle and glides over a sewn seam, pressing it right there beside your sewing machine and eliminating the need to go to the ironing board. Saves a lot of time and is fabulous when foundation piecing. The curved shaping of the roller eradicates “roller” lines after use. This tool is available from punchwithjudy.com.

Tulip Pins
Practical and cute, these fun pins are from the Japanese company Tulip. The pins have a fine stainless-steel shaft and they measure 48mm from point to the top of the flower. Each glass tube also contains 15 pins. This tool is available from sarahfielke.com.
Sunflower Quilts Thread Cutter
If you love chain piecing, you will love this tool. Designed to save time, the flat base is very stable and a small blade is safely located in the dip in the top. Simply pull down the thread between your piecing into the dip to cut apart your units — no need to pick up your scissors. You could use it at the ironing board or near your machine too!
