Getting Cosy with Designers – Chris Jurd & Sue Pinner
Be inspired by our truly amazing contributors and designers as featured on Cosy PROJECT!
Chris Jurd
“I make five or six quilts a year, on average – some by hand and some by machine. Playing with fabric and colour is the best fun ever!”

Do you like craft retreats?
“Sure do, as a participant and a tutor. I organise two a year locally, for up to 40 quilters each time, and I travel far and wide as a tutor for other groups.”
Can’t stop!
“I’ll stop when I’ve passed my use-by date! When no one books me for classes anymore or when I’m too old to see to sew, then I’ll consider stopping.”
Go retro with this 30s Wheel Quilt, a sweet, foundation pieced and appliqué circle quilt pattern by Chris Jurd!
My style is:
“Eclectic. Strong colours combined with a preference for foundation piecing. Friends say they can pick my quilts by the ‘ugly’ fabrics I’ve used. I never shy away from the unusual prints – the ones that others don’t buy. They add so much to a design, I think, and really help add to the WOW factor.”
Go modern with these fun and funky Basket Case Cushions by Chris Jurd!
Ideas Fiend
“I wake up every morning with new ideas. I’ve just sorted more than 12 Ikea bags full of samples. And I have notebooks and sketch pads, too.”
Sue Pinner
“First thing I do when I wake is crochet, and I often fall asleep mid-stitch at night…I am a total addict.”

What I love about crochet
“All the textures and colours and that I can take it with me anywhere. And there are so many creative variations – modern or vintage, textured or plain, colourful or natural, and combinations of some or all of them.”
